There are state and county agencies that help low income people. Churches help alot of people too.
You don't say were you are - but your city should have a welfare office or something - and they should be able to tell you were to go for help with housing. They typically pay all or part of your rent for you.
If you can't pay the rent, how are you going to pay the mortgage payment? If you're living in your car, I'm assuming you have no savings, so where's the down payment coming from?
