What are standard roommate rules...cleaning, not paying rent, borrowing without permission? Please help!!!?

My neice lives with me and goes to school, she has a part time job. Her rent is $200 a month. This strated in June but so far she's only paid $300, its August. She is a slob, I have to tell her to go down the hall and wash her clothes because the room stinks! She shares a room with my 14 year old daughter. She gets home from work , during the weekdays, around 10:45 but wants to stay up to watch tv or to get on the internet. My daughter has to go to school so this is a problem. She has no consideration for anyone but herself. Her mother, my sister, did a horrible job of half raising while the state did the rest but I wanted to try to help her be a responsible and productive person. I don't know how to get her to understand that i'm at the end of my rope and i'm tryin not to hang her with it!What are standard roommate rules...cleaning, not paying rent, borrowing without permission? It sounds like she has had a tough life but sometimes tough love is called for. If you have bought these things to her attention before and she refuses to act on them, then you need to put your foot down. My guess is that she doesnt believe that you mean what you say. You need to prove it to her. What are standard roommate rules...cleaning, not paying rent, borrowing without permission? Please help!!!?
You could threaten to kick her out of the house (of course, with no intention on doing so... unless you wanted to) and maybe she will change her act and ask for a second change and then you can throw in everything she doesn't do in that.
well, just try to talk it out. Tell her franklly that her that she should be more responsible through her actions and that she shouldn't act that way because its rude...also tell her that she should be considerate beacuse your daughter is taking her studies seriously and that you should try to not disturb her not make a total mess of the room their staying in and she should also be ashamed of doing that
How old is this girl? Certainly old enough to understand that you are sticking out your neck to help her. Tell her the rules and give her a chance to catch up on the rent. If she doesn't, then she's gotta go.
