If you're working you're probably not going to get much help from the state, poverty levels for assistance are so low it's ridiculous.

If I were you I'd contact the kids father and make him pony up some support, if possible. Daycare is the one thing you should skimp on, every dollar spent on safe, loving care is worth it. Maybe look at trimming back on other expenses, like food, auto, entertainment, etc. Daycare should be one of the last expenses you cut.

Also make sure to take advantage of the daycare tax credit.
Call your states department of welfare office and ask for the child care assistance number. If you all them they will tell you if you qualify for assistance with child care. If you make too much to qualify I would try to find a private provider- they usually cost much less than child care centers. While you are on the phone with the departement of welfare ask for the number to your states CHIP program-they provide no or low cost health insurance to children.

Contact your electric company and/or gas company and ask for energy assistance numbers. You can call and ask them if you qualify for help with your utilities.

Also, call your county housing authority and see if you qualify for housing assistance.

If you make too much to qualify for these programs (which we were always like $20 over the yearly income limit!) Try to reduce your food bill by eating all your meals at home, shopping with coupons and buying only generic groceries. I shop at yard sales for clothes, toys and household items. I have plastic on our windows and patio door to keep out drafts and keep our heating bill down.

I hope this helps, good luck-I know it's tough!
Check with your local department of social services. They have many programs to help depending on what state you live in. They may have programs to help with daycare, and health ins, or even your power bills. It is all income based but it couldn't hurt to check it out.
Where are you located? Some states (not sure if all) offer a program that for daycare that helps pay for the cost. It is income based, but they do take into account your bills when considering you. In SC, it is called the ABC program. Hope this helps!
time to start going after the babby daddy

or try to get assistance

look into a job that provides healthcare, as an LPN that shouldn't be hard
I was having the same problems. ACS has a program called ACD which will help you pay for daycare not matter how much you make...I make alot but have too many things to pay so they help and I save money.
